Paediatric Echocardiography in Batumi
Assessment of the structure and functional condition of the heart in children and adolescents
Paediatric echocardiography is an ultrasound examination of the heart which makes it possible to assess the structure and function of the heart and the circulation of the blood in children and adolescents. The examination is used for the diagnosis and monitoring of both congenital and acquired cardiovascular diseases.
The cardiovascular system of children changes with age, and the results of the examination are therefore assessed taking into account the child's stage of development, clinical condition and individual characteristics.

When is the examination recommended?
Paediatric echocardiography may be prescribed in cases of a heart murmur, chest pain, a rapid or irregular heartbeat, ready fatigue, difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness and intolerance of physical exertion.
The examination is also performed on the recommendation of a paediatrician or a paediatric cardiologist, where congenital heart disease is suspected, for monitoring an already identified condition and for assessing the results of treatment.
Our approach
The examination is carried out taking into account the child's age and emotional state, in a calm and comfortable environment. The data obtained are assessed together with the complaints, the clinical examination and the results of other diagnostic investigations.
Where necessary, the paediatric cardiologist works together with the paediatrician, the paediatric rheumatologist and specialists in other fields, which contributes to a comprehensive assessment of the patient's condition and to the correct planning of further follow-up.
