Ultrasonography in Batumi

The clinic performs ultrasound examinations of a variety of organs and systems

Ultrasonography is a safe, non-invasive, and widely used diagnostic method that uses high-frequency ultrasound waves to assess internal organs, glands, blood vessels, and soft tissues.

The examination does not involve X-ray radiation and may be used both for initial diagnosis and for monitoring an already identified condition or evaluating treatment outcomes.

Our Services

The clinic provides ultrasound examinations of various organs and systems, including:

Abdominal Ultrasound
The examination assesses the liver, gallbladder and bile ducts, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, and other abdominal structures. It may be recommended for abdominal pain, a feeling of heaviness, digestive disorders, or abnormal laboratory findings.

Pelvic Ultrasound
This examination is used to assess the pelvic organs in both women and men. The method and scope of the examination are determined according to the patient’s symptoms, age, and clinical indications.

Thyroid Ultrasound
The examination allows assessment of the size and structure of the thyroid gland, as well as the detection of nodules and other abnormalities. When necessary, the findings are evaluated together with hormonal and other laboratory test results.

Breast Ultrasound
This examination is used to assess breast tissue and identify possible abnormalities. It may be performed as part of a preventive examination or in cases of pain, palpable lumps, discomfort, or other symptoms.

Soft Tissue Ultrasound
Ultrasound can be used to assess subcutaneous masses, lymph nodes, muscles, tendons, and other superficial structures.

Urinary and Genitourinary System Ultrasound
The examination includes assessment of the kidneys, urinary bladder, and, when clinically indicated, other organs of the urinary and genitourinary system.

Ultrasound examinations of other organs and systems may also be performed based on clinical indications.

Our Approach

The scope of the examination is determined individually according to the patient’s symptoms, medical history, and the recommendations of the treating physician. The findings are assessed together with the overall clinical picture, helping to plan further diagnostic evaluation and treatment appropriately.

Special preparation may be required before an ultrasound examination. Preparation instructions depend on the organ being examined and the type of study, and the patient will receive the appropriate recommendations in advance.

What this examination covers

Abdominal ultrasound

Examines the liver, gallbladder and bile ducts, pancreas, spleen and kidneys. It is usually ordered for abdominal pain, bloating, abnormal liver blood tests or suspected gallstones.

Pelvic ultrasound

Shows the organs of the pelvic cavity — the uterus, ovaries and bladder. It is ordered when investigating pelvic pain, an irregular cycle or urinary symptoms.

Echocardiography

Shows the heart chambers, valves and pumping function in real time. It is ordered for breathlessness, a heart murmur, an irregular rhythm or long-standing high blood pressure.

Kidney ultrasound

Assesses the size and structure of the kidneys and the state of the urinary tract. It is usually ordered for flank pain, blood in the urine or repeated infections.

Venous Doppler ultrasound

Measures blood flow in the veins of the legs and checks how the valves work. It is ordered for swelling, varicose veins or suspected thrombosis.

Thyroid ultrasound

Shows the size and structure of the gland and whether any nodules are present. It usually follows an abnormal hormone test or a swelling noticed in the neck.

Pregnancy ultrasound

Follows the growth of the baby, the heartbeat and the position of the placenta. It is performed as part of the routine monitoring of a pregnancy.

Gynaecological ultrasound

Looks in detail at the uterus and ovaries, including the thickness of the endometrium. It is ordered for cycle irregularities, pain or as part of a fertility assessment.

Breast ultrasound

Examines breast tissue and the lymph nodes in the armpit. It is usually ordered to assess a lump found by hand or another change in the breast.
